Alpine introduction course
Do you want to spend one weekend learning the basics of mountaineering? This low commitment weekend course for beginners will introduce you to the high mountain of the Pyrenees in wintertime. Once done, you will decide if you want to take a more advanced level or enjoy the regular routes of most of the summits.
Our guides will show you the basic techniques for ice and snow climbing this weekend, understanding the different types of snow, and how to deal with this terrain.
We'll learn how to use the avalanche safety kit (beacon, probe, and shovel), read a map, understand the gear and the equipment, etc.
After understanding these new skills, we'll practice them on a classic summit of the area. The conditions and fitness of the group will determine the appropriate objective.
There's no need for previous experience to take this course, just the enthusiasm to learn a lot and be prepared to get caught in this new world.
